Hello! We’re Catherine and Jan

I concepted Broca AI Speech after watching my mom try out pretty much all of the Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices and solutions on the market. I’ve spent a career in product content design and user experience, most recently at Microsoft, and was taken aback at how dated the existing apps are (and frankly, not very fun to use).

My goal with Broca AI Speech is to create something that makes communicating a little more fun for people with aphasia (and the people around them). People who are in recovery from a stroke have been through enough. There’s no reason for them to have boring tech.
